If you are 16 or 17
Sixteen or seventeen? This account is yours
You sign up, not your parents
You create the account yourself and it belongs to you. When you join, we send your parent or carer a one-off email so they know you are learning here. Once they have acknowledged it, your account unlocks and you can browse and message tutors. There is no deadline on that email.
They do not run your account
Acknowledging is not approving. Your parent or carer cannot log in as you, cannot manage your account, and is not asked to vet the tutors you talk to. Because you are under 18, we do email them when a tutor conversation starts and when you connect with a tutor, so they are never in the dark about who you are learning with.
Under 16? You learn through a parent-managed account instead, set up and held by your parent or carer. See how that works for parents.
