Tutor Island sets only strictly necessary cookies. These keep you signed in, keep your session secure, and let core features such as messaging work. The platform cannot function without them, and under UK law they do not require consent, which is why you will not see a cookie banner on Tutor Island.

We do not set analytics, preference, advertising, or tracking cookies. To understand how the site is used, we use a privacy-focused analytics service (Plausible) that works without cookies and without collecting personal data: it stores nothing on your device and cannot follow you across other websites.

When you pay to connect with a tutor, checkout happens on a secure page hosted by our payment processor, Stripe. On that page Stripe may set cookies needed to process your payment securely and prevent fraud; their use is governed by Stripe’s own cookie policy. No other third party sets cookies through Tutor Island.

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or remove cookies, though blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop parts of Tutor Island from working, such as signing in. If we ever introduce cookies that require consent, we will ask for it first and update this policy before doing so.
